DYWIDAG Post -Tensioning Systems for Westcoast Highway Project in Taiwan

Westcoast Highway Lot 69 (WH 69), Budai Harbour, Chayi County, Taiwan

Project WH 69 is located at Budai Harbour, Chayi County in southern Taiwan and is part of the Taiwan Highway Bureau's Westcoast Highway Program. One key element of the WH 69 project is a three span, twin box free cantilever bridge that crosses over the ship dock of Budai Harbor. The bridge has a main span of 140 m and side spans of 95 m. The width of the bridge is approximately 22 m and the box depth ranges from 3.25 m to 7.25 m.

DSI Taiwan was awarded the subcontract to erect the superstructure of the cantilever bridge.

The work scope of DSI includes:

  • Piertable construction
  • Formtraveller supply and operation of cantilever construction
  • Post-Tensioning supply and installation for the bridge.

Construction of the bridge was successfully completed in October 2002.
