Repair & Strengthening
DYWIDAG Systems International Ground Penetrating Radar Services goes hand in hand with Post-Tensioning inspections.
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a nondestructive inspection method that maps through solid pavement materials, such as a concrete post-tensioned slab as well as other solid materials up to 18” thick to detect subsurface objects such as post-tensioning tendons, ducts, utilities and rebar. It can also determine the condition and thickness of the material examined. GPR is an ideal technology for detection of bridge deck delaminations, voids, subsurface moisture accumulation and the thickness of asphalt pavement layers.
- Post-Tension tendon mapping
- Reinforcement: horizontal and longitude rebar
- Excellent uses:
- Proper placement of core hole locations to avoid rebar and Post- Tensioning
- Bridge beam rebar inspection for mapping
- Accurate overlay thickness measurements
- Deterioration boundaries within reinforced concrete deck that result from chloride-induced corrosion
- Bridge beam rebar inspection for mapping
- Detect and map concrete condition for rehab planning
- Delaminations, cracks, fractures
